We in the great white north and many around the world are mourning the loss on composer/conductor Bramwell Tovey at the age of 69 years old. Many do not know that Mr.Tovey was a tuba player from England who studied with the late John Fletcher.Bramewell had a wide ranging career working in all genres of music.. orchestral, jazz and BrItish brass bands and wind bands.Although i never met or played for this gentleman i feel like i have lost a close friend.

I'm thinking I saw a notice from James Gourlay about this.

I always have trouble digging up this quotation, but (I'm thinking a female author) "There was so much to love, I could not love it all."

In other words, it's unfortunate (as it is just too voluminous) that we cannot possibly be made aware of all who do excellent things.

Thanks for bringing this person's excellence to our attention.
