WTB: hard case (ONLY certain ones, and ONLY one case) within driving distance of Memphis

Post by bloke »

I can't do these $600 - $1000 types of prices...I'm looking for GOOD (no cracks) MOLDED, intact, not warped, and (if damaged hardware) the damaged hardware needs to be something that I can acquire (same matching hardware) for replacement.

ONLY one of these two:

> (very old) Jakob Winter (black molded plastic) sold with Cerveny 681 (4/4 B-flat rotory) tubas a few decades ago - out of a place in New Jersey.
This would likely be owned by someone who - perhaps - bought one of those tubas decades ago, carried it around in a bag, stored the hard Jakob Winter case in the attic, and never bothered to offer the hard case for sale.

> John Packer (black molded plastic) sold with their 379CC piston C tuba.

If too far away, too high a price, or not one of these cases, thank-you: no.

I have not seen the EASTMAN nor ZO rotary F tuba hard cases, but IF (??) they are MOLDED PLASTIC, I would consider those as well.

NO zipper cloth-clad cases, NO wood cases, NO cases that cannot accommodate a 39" instrument (or be easily adapted to accommodate this length), NO cases with bell diameter accommodation exceeding 18" (only needing 16-1/2" bell accommodation).
