SHIPPING or MEETING ON THE ROAD is now NEGOTIABLE
The current new price of this model bag with tax and shipping is about $1,200.00 and will only go up over time. This bag has had my 186 in it exactly twice, so that is $400.00 off the price of what is essentially a brand new bag that has been stored safely, wrapped in plastic, since shortly after I got it. (I adopted a new cat just prior to my ordering this, and during the wait for it to be cut and stitched together this cat started destroying my other leather bag. I did not want to see this one get shredded, too, so I decided to not use it before it ever got here (which is sad for me because I *love* leather Cronkhite bags and was very excited to get one for my excellent 1971 186-CC. That's the only reason I am selling it.)
This bag was hand-cut to fit an old-style Mirafone 186 (BBb or CC), and I would not recommend buying this bag unless you have an actual, classic, small-belled Mirafone 186 tuba to stick in it. Note that I am not sure whether a modern 186 will fit, but I think the bell might be too large, and I do not have access to one to find out. Sorry.
I can ship this AT THE BUYER'S EXPENSE on top of the price. This will cost a lot and is not recommended. I can also meet you, but I am only willing to drive to Ruston, LA, Southaven, MS, Livingston, AL, Hammond, LA, or Hattiesburg, MS, or halfway between us, whichever is the shortest for me. (I am only willing to ship to the contiguous 48 US states. No international shipping.)
NO RETURNS. It's a freaking gig bag, man; you either want it or you don't. If I ship it to you, once it leaves my hands you are assuming 100% of the risk. The shipping will be via UPS and will have tracking and insurance, but GOOD LUCK MAKING A CLAIM TO UPS IF THEY LOSE OR DAMAGE IT. If your horn does not fit that is your fault, not mine. I have described this bag accurately and you have been warned. (Can you tell how much I detest shipping things to anyone, ever, from Mississippi? Please make the drive. At least you'll receive the bag on time and in perfect condition. UPS loses and destroys things in Mississippi all the time. It is terrible, and it is currently the BEST option, unfortunately.)
If we meet, you need to bring the tuba that will live in this bag to make sure that it fits. It is tight for a small-belled 186, but the leather will stretch a little over time.
Pros:
• Hey, Cronkhite leather!
• It is made in beautiful, formal black.
• The interior is also black.
• The bag fits this specific horn PERFECTLY.
• It has bombproof Cronkhite shoulder straps and handles.
• It has a very nice integral zipper pouch instead of the floppy snap-on pouch.
• Willson 3200 F, 3400 Eb, Kurath F, and PT-10-framed F tubas *should* fit in this bag.
Cons:
• It does not have the usual small accessory pouch on the strap side.
PM me if interested. I am in no hurry to sell this; I am trying to rescue it from my cats. It is wrapped in plastic sheeting and is not being used at all.
