A huge loss for the music community...I think many of us have played countless charts by Dave. As a teacher, I have relied on his charts heavily over the years.

Oh no! Dude was a genius and a sweetheart of a guy. He lived in Orlando so I'd see him at the occasional big band concert. Such a loss to the music world!

That's a shame. I can't say that I knew him, but the group I read jazz charts with once a month certainly uses many of his arrangements.

I concur! I read those charts with Jerry for many years before my knees and back precluded my participation in this true 'Big Band' ensemble. Be sure to tell Jerry the sad news. I keep meaning to drop by during a rehearsal just to listen.
