About a month ago, there was a modified Cerveny F tuba with an added 5th v that was sold as-is. Having the CSR emblem, the horn was from c. 1918-38.
I bought it and had it shipped to me. I had some alterations done to it:
—repair three braces
—clean up
—replace new springs from piano wire hand done
—convert to duo bro
—turn valves 3&4
—align rotors
—new bumpers, and replace water keys with Lees Keys
and some other stuff...

First three pics are before horn, and two last ones are horn today..
15” bell, .700 bore...think Alex F with small Yamaha F low range. Intonation excellent, gorgeous sound..a winner.
Only weird thing is 5th v is 2+3, like old Mirafone 5ths...but it is so great down low, I’ll deal with brain cramps ( low Bb...2+3+5 instead of 4+5)...don’t want to mess with it...
It looks like clocksprings are still there but just the cylinders left on bar..the springs my guy put on are a bit tight, but I need to put a few thousand miles on it ...

Nope.

Not sure, but he posted the same pictures in the Frankentuba group

Arrows are small, white, and halfway up the right edges of the pictures.

I'm just pointing out that something with that link and this software seems to remove the functionality of the link for some platforms. My posts have not been about the tuba at all, but about the photo display.

These imjur links work fine on other sites for me, but do not seem to work *here*, meaning I *know* about the itty-bitty arrows and how the display is supposed to work. I was trying to help Mark identify a bug that is buried somewhere between imjur and the very commonly used Safari desktop browser, which has been in very wide distribution for 17 years and is not some new or off-brand browser.

Agreed...there is something weird using Imgur here...from now on, I will lneed st individually...Tnx Wade.

The small body Cerveny F tubas were incredible little F tubas. Does the receiver barely take a standard shank mouthpiece? Keep the leadpipe stock! They knew what they were doing, and it is proportional to the rest of the instrument.

Yeah, I did not intend for you guys to waste so much time on me being able to see the pics, but they are nice to look at. I was more about getting attention to the lost functionality between your link and my computer. These work well for me on other sites. I don't understand why your link fails to work for me. I am hoping it is some user setting and not deep voodoo in the phpBB stuff.

That tuba looks a lot like my old 654, minus the added quint valve. Is this one of the large F tubas like the Harmonia?

I think the Harmonia and your horn might be the same model save for that very useful buint valve. I loved how it sounded and played, as did my section mates. I am considering getting another at some point in time.

Here is a pic of the Harmonia (654) I bought from Marty back in like 2006. For a size reference, that is my old MW 2265 behind it.

If you get one, get two - the other one for me! Not a "do everything" F tuba like some of the bigger horns, but a fantastic solo horn and for the lighter repertoire. This was one of those tubas that sounded much bigger in the hall than it did up close. If one was to have a "niche" horn for soloing, that would be the tuba. This guy thought so too:

I use an original small Conn Helleberg on it. Original lead pipe.
