Seeking a Piggy

I am looking for a CC Piggy or Yamaha 661 to try/buy. I am in Tennessee but can travel most places east of the Mississippi or within 700 miles of Knoxville. Condition not that important as long as it plays well...in fact, I love raw brass...
Thanks,
royjohn

I know of someone selling one out West:

I was looking for a Piggy this past summer, but had no bites at all on the East Coast.
Good luck!

I know beggers can't be choosers, but Be very careful buying any Cerveny product made between 1990 and 2020.

That is ultimately the reason I didn't purchase that one in California without being able to try it first.

...and that is my situation, exactly. If it were cheap enough, I might take a chance and fly out to try it, but I can't afford to do it. If I'd already had a scheduled trip out West, it would be a different story...

Yeah, it seems like a few years ago there were lots of Piggies for sale but the market has dried up. I hope you find one! I am out of the market now but I'll keep an eye out as well.

I know I wish I didn't sell mine. It was one of the great ones, and everyone told me I would regret selling it
They were 100% right

@royjohn, that Quinn fellow has a YCB-661:

Price is reasonable, maybe negotiable?
Good thing about the 661 is that they are likely pretty consistent, as far as tubas go. Rare as hens teeth, however.

Aye… 7 years ago to boot.
File that one under the “not paying attention” category.

Give Lee Stofer a call regarding the Lidl tubas he has imported. He's got a piggy that may interest you.

I'll check with Lee, but he has a Lidl F tuba listed for $6750 and I am guessing that the Piggy variant is about that price or more...which is way beyond my budget. I will just stay with the 410 I have unless I can find something for under $4K.
