This Tuba Tuesday the Museum features a Buescher, Jumbo, BB flat sousaphone, 3 piston, 1926.

Bell is 30” and the bore is .770.

“THE / BUESCHER / ELKHART / IND / USA” on small end of bell. Floral engraving around identification marks.

(Where' is the drooling emoji? ah... there it's!)

 italicised  bold  um...

(Somehow very disappointed emojis are not altered appropriately by formatting tags, and here i thought the underline would artistically fill in the impression of a puddle accumulating. Such is my disappointment i felt the need to explain it)

Someone here marches with one of these and that's pretty hard to top...

I have had my hands on one just like this before. It made a Martin Mammoth bell look tiny.

I bought one of those - one time - for about $250.

The valves were worn, but it played.

An old black man came in to the (brick-and-mortar) store asking if I had a sousaphone for sale.
He was in town for his brother's funeral and wanted something to play graveside, and then mess with it at home, after it was over.
I sold it to him for $250.
