I enjoyed that very much. It was very "listenable" if you know what I mean.

Neat piece, spectacular playing. Daniel could play 12 feet of PVC pipe and garden hose and still sound like a million dollars.

Thank you and don't worry!tofu wrote: Thu May 25, 2023 10:45 pm A very nice piece by a composer who you can tell understands the tuba and how to score it with an ensemble. They really let the lyrical sound of the tuba shine with the ensemble never overwhelming or overshadowing it. Lovely playing & interpretation of the piece as well.
I'm curious how you found the mood of the country currently. We don't hear much about Latvia here. With the country having been occupied by Russia for 45 years before their independence, the large influx of Russians during that period now becoming the largest ethnic minority in the country and sharing a border with Russia and the current hostilities in Ukraine I'd assume there is some unease amongst the population & government.
Don't want to detract from your post and if you're not comfortable responding that's ok.
The Latvian people are a proud people. After the long occupation the are happy to be free. Of course whole Europe and the world is in worry, but what i saw and heard from the Latvian people they are not more worried than the rest of the European people. If you ever have the opportunity to visit Latvia, do it! It's a beautiful country. Specially in Summer. We had still snow in April...
