Texas Brass Fest - Massed Band Tunes (120 brass musicians)

Post by Doc »

This is a playlist of FIVE tunes (iPhone videos) of the mass band at the Texas Brass Fest. The Austin Brass Band, Dallas Brass Band, Houston Brass Band, and San Antonio Brass Band played individual shows, then all 120 brass players got on stage for five tunes. The enormity of the sound cannot be captured on an iPhone or any other device, but you can get an idea of what 120 brass musicians sounds like. I understand a professional recording was made - stay tuned for that…

Tunes are in this order:

Prelude Fanfare on ‘Richmond’
Shine as the Light
Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral (lots of brown notes)
Seventy-six Trombones
Festival March - Celebration
