Listened to it last night on Apple Music.
Might be my new favorite recording of the piece. Well performed and the gorgeous Concertgebouw Orchestra playing accompaniment.
Is it still one of the least of Vaughan Williams's pieces? Yes.
Do I care? No. Mr. Hoogendijk is an artist with an old familiar paintbrush painting a new pastoral canvas as vivid, lively, and lovely as ever.
