Well, my playing is not anywhere near where I want it to be or believe it should be. I’m a bit embarrassed to post along side of top professionals here ( @Chris Olka comes to mind), and the likelihood of me doing any serious professional playing again is currently pretty low (but I’m hopeful I can practice and play more as time goes on). Even so, the YouTube stuff proves to be a fun and creative outlet.

After I won that tuba tapestry (shower curtain) in @Dylan King’s tuba cd contest, I decided to make some appropriate bumper music for my reply/appreciation video. I did Under the Sea at the front and Beyond the Sea at the end, but Under the Sea seemed to be the right fit/length/vibe, so I keep using it. With the exceptions of ensemble arrangements and Christmas quartets, I just make up the arrangements to everything else on the fly. No ink, no paper. One I did that way that was a lot of fun personally to do was Sweet Caroline. I especially enjoyed doing it because it was a request from a couple of my students. The tuba playing isn’t too bad, but my drumming sucks pretty bad. But they liked it, so it didn’t really matter.

So... it’s Dylan’s fault!

Thanks for sharing, Doc. You soundin’ good. And thanks for identifying the mouthpiece - what a unique combo for that large tuba. BTW, what number Solo shank did you use?

#2 solo shank. And a #2 rim profile.
