Hi, I’m a Junior in high school and I’m looking for a solo to play for solo and ensemble in January. For sophomore year, I played morceau de concert by saint saens. And for freshman year I played honor and arms and introduction and dance. Any piece that similarly or even more challenging than morceau de concert would be the skill level I’m looking for..

Well, what key instrument are you using? The typical high school BBb, or do you own your own CC, Eb, or F? All of the solos you mentioned are within easy BBb range. More difficult solos meant for college or professional use will have higher tessiturra (general range) and would be ideally played on an F tuba. Solos like this usually are much more easily played on an F. While it’s technically POSSIBLE to play a solo with lots of high range on a BBb, it’s a struggle.

Check with your teacher to find out if your state has a graded list of solos. That could give you some ideas. Many state music teacher organizations have such lists.

I don’t know what state you’re in to know what is on the state approved list…
