Potentially for sale. 1945 Conn 20k. Silver, gold bell

Post by EmptyCase »

I’m thinking about selling this sousaphone. I’m not totally sure about it, it’s one of those ones that’s hard to let go of. All of that said though, I’m not really sure how much this would be worth. If anyone could shed some light on how much this is worth I’d appreciate it. Also feel free to send in offers.

Really good compression, Wood case good cond., some wear and denting. Neck, and second hand bits. All original plating. Only sign of repairs are spit valve, neck, and leadpipe fixes. Also dent work. Does not come with pad sorry…

Know someone who bought a similar sousa for $3500 recently. I didn't think he got a bad deal at all.
As amateur as they come...I know just enough to be dangerous.

Just for curiosity, are you still considering selling this one?

Not anymore, I’m actually thinking about getting it overhauled. However I may be tempted to trade depending on what(mabey an older 40k?). I love the sound of this horn too much
