I'm looking to a buy a Miraphone 188 CC as my first C tuba. I live around the Bloomington, Illinois area, and I'm willing to drive a decent distance. Email(preferred) or reply to me if you have an offer.

There’s this one. It’s not close, but 188s aren’t too enormous, so they ship pretty well.

I’ve no idea if a 188 is a good first CC, but I really like mine. It sounds good, has very workable intonation, is easy to play, and very comfortable to handle. Good luck in your search.

Not a 188, but there are TWO silver Miraphone 1292 CC's in your area. One in Fort Wayne, IN, and the other in Chicago.

Don't limit yourself to one tuba as a first tuba. You can always sell if you need to. In addition, you'll get great use out of ANY Miraphone tuba. They're all good. Go play one of these two horns. I'm sure you'll like the 1292.

You don't list a budget, but the 1292's are both around $7,500. Good price for what you get. Here's one. The other is listed on Facebook.

FWIW, I don't know you or the sellers. But I like helping someone find a first horn. 188's are good, but I like the piston horns better. Just one man's opinion.

I appreciate the help. Yeah, the 1292s are great horns, but I'm talking to my teacher after I find a listing that is half decent and he said currently with the way I play that the 1292 is a little too big for me, AT THE MOMENT, but in the future it will be good. I play on a 1291 BBb right now, so I think he has a fair assessment on it. So I'm on the lookout for a 188. Thank you for the help I appreciate it a lot and if you see anything you know how to get to me.

I'm affirmed by my teacher that it is a great CC, especially for me, to start on. Thank you for sending me this one, but I'm hoping to find one that is relatively close probably maximum 8-12 hour drive depending on how it looks.

That's excellent that you have a teacher guiding your search. I completely understand wanting to find one close enough to try out first and to not worry about shipping.

The 188 has a reputation for consistency, in case that helps.

You should take a look at this 188 immediately. 10 hour drive, professional seller, fair price for a horn with some damage but repaired.

Witchita Band Instruments just posted a 188 on their Facebook page. Might be worth checking out. Not familiar with them at all, but might be worth a look.

I appreciate you letting me know but someone else took it before I could get all the logistics settled. Keep me updated if you see another one and thank you.

I cannot view it so I'm assuming it is gone. Thank you for letting me know and inform me if another one pops up

It was the same Wichita band instruments one, I didn't realize that Facebook links were messed up.

Oh they aren't, it just disappeared because they took down the sell post like 4 hours after they posted it because someone put in a deposit for the instrument.
