I sold one of those Sanders stencil B&S F tubas in the past (no kranz - 1980's).
===========================================================================
yeah, and (if not a scam) a 16-1/2 bell minty-looking 5-valve 186 C as well.
I'm not saying it's a scam, but the pictures/ad/story all look/sound familiar, except with (now) a much lower price that what I seem to remember.

I think this was @pedaljay's old tuba. Pretty sure it's legit. Nice price. Jason actually had it listed at an even better price last year or the year before, I assume when this person who is reselling bought it.

I purchased a mouthpiece from Melody back in January. Slightly slow to ship but in great condition (better than advertised), packed very well, and included a surprise mouthpiece case/pouch. I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with her again.

Not that the market on everything has doubled - and not that any of us are receiving any more dollars than then, but most everything we regularly buy has doubled in price since 2000...
...so to buy something desirable in 2000 for X and to sell it today (same condition / no wear-and-tear) for 2X is to break even - unless one is taxed on the
"profit".

I’m not sure “tuba” and “capital gains” are related in any context these days.

It sure did look tempting to me. Good thing I already have one.

I had the same thought. Just a few months ago I flew to the same part of the country to buy one. I played Die Miestersinger Overture with my community orchestra yesterday, and I have to say, I don't regret the purchase!

Seems to be still there, and not too long a drive. Having to remind myself I don’t really need a spare. Probably. Still, ….

Sorry I am late to the thread. It is my old horn. Melody found a 4+2 Symphonie. Horn plays well and needs some TLC, nothing major.
