Two of those look to be really close to my sealed box pricing, particularly as my pricing includes shipping.

I guess realistically there aren't enough B&S Symphonie tubas at that price for everybody to have one.

I don't buy - well...not all that much - in the "handmade" thing (re: earlier instruments).

That having been said, I really don't believe that the Symphonie model has ever quite been completely copied.

The mouthpipe tubes begin at-or-below (only) a 1/2-inch bore on the "real" ones, and (as some know) very early on (mid-1970's), the mouthpiece receiver size was (what is today labeled as) "small".

Those things that Tom is/was selling (at least, during a noisy elephant room quick test) played pretty nicely, for me.

If someone's looking for a PT-15 (larger than Symphonie), the JP is the very best-built and closest copy.
