Hello, I’m looking for the slide extension to the 5th valve of my B&S PT6p.
Located in Bloomington Indiana
thanks!

I don’t know what this came from but think it was a B&S 5th valve extension.

I’ll take some careful measurements tomorrow night if that looks like it could work.

That Could Potentially work, thanks for measuring! It would need to be the right bore(.825), I'm guessing the legs could be moved to be the correct width.
Thanks!

Did B&S make the extensions for the piston tubas? I've only ever seen them for the rotary tubas where the fifth valve comes first in line in the valve block.

They exist with the new MRP-C(P), so if they didn’t then, they do now!

My friend has a MRP-C(p) and I tried it with mine, I really liked it. Mr. Perantoni has been trying to make this a standard feature for awhile.

Andy Smith had a few of these for sale several months ago, possibly on this forum. That is where I would start.
Just be aware they are not necessarily plug and play, as the slide tube spacing on the main portions of the 5th valve slides are not consistent to a tolerance of good slide function, and thus neither the short slides, nor the long slides, are necessarily interchangeable without some (hopefully) minor adjustment of the tube spacing.
The longer tubing does make a significant different in the low register response on the PT6 and MRP.

Sorry, the one I pictured above has a .750" ID bore.

The fifth valve slide assembly on the PT6/MRP is a .750 bore. Since it is the top valve in the rotor stack, it would be odd if it were otherwise. The larger bore valve is the 4th valve.
The one you have, York-aholic, however, appears to be a 5th valve assembly for either a different generation, or for a different instrument. At least current ones do not include the dogleg in the down tubing which may not allow the tubing to extend down in the gap between the underside of other tubing off the valves and the 5th valve actuator rod. If the main portion of the slide fits, the dogleg (not in recent assemblies) might place the slide in the proper place. Though that could be checked with access to a PT6 or MRP.

The ones Andy smith were selling are for rotary pt-6s.
I asked the man himself and the 5th is bigger. 4th is .770 and 5th is around .830. Older ones might be 0.750 in the 5tj valve.

My bad! I missed the "p" after "PT6" in the original post; and was commenting on the rotary version (obviously). Dooh!!
