Can we all get on board with this, please?

I believe the US legislature should pass a law that - with any Conn tubas - the letter "J" be removed from the model number (as it is understood), as the extra effort to involved in saying/typing/uploading the "J" adds carbon to the atmosphere and contributes to all of this devastating climate change.

I agree, Tubas/Sousaphone/Helicons/wrap around python looking thingamajigies don't really look like a J anyways. Helps Conn with saving costs via tooling, polishing, quality control etc. I hope Conn passes those savings to its customers and not only to the "top brass."
But if Conn insists on keeping a letter, well a U, O (for them circular tubbus), or even an S for wrap around style (even though those are generally one off custom made and Conn doesn't even make those kinds of tubas...).
Heck even the B makes a little bit of sense, you'll have to squint a bit when looking at a YBB-641 but it's there!
And having cleaner air, water, eventually food, and less wastes is the best part!
Now, where do I sign!
( If we actually petitioned it I actually don't mind signing
)

The only model they make now is the 5J, so impact on the environment is minimal at best.

There’s precedent. In the 1890s the Government Printing Office eliminated the ae diphthong and æ ligature from use in government publications to economize. So haemophilia (or hæmophilia) became hemophilia, archaeology (archæology) became archeology, and so on. They estimate that it has saved over $10.00 in ink costs over the past ~130 years.

Had grown longer at every word:
"But, now that you've stated the whole of your case,
More debate would be simply absurd.”
