It was my first tuba -- very compact, still sounded like a tuba. I never really got the hang of the low register. It played quite well in tune until you got down in the low C range where everything wanted to slot extremely sharp. If Ida known where to drop a mouthpiece on it I'd still have it.

Received today....what a great little horn! Maybe this one is an anomily, but very even throughout and very good low range. Came with a flight case too, and probably the best packing job I have seen...I need smaller hands to unscrew the rotor caps though...talk about compact!! Wow!

I've owned one for almost 20 years. I love it. I've played a few of them, and they all have a great low range. They are compact, but make a lot of good sound. VERY mouthpiece sensitive, but in a good way - I use my Bobo Solo for almost everything on it. But with a standard Helleberg, the sound really thickens and darkens up if you want to use it in a larger group.
