FS: Walter Nirschl 6/4 York model

Post by UncleBeer »

For sale at Denton Big Brass: my own personal Walter Nirschl 6/4 York copy. I don't need a 6/4 tuba on a daily basis, but have plenty good ones in my shop here should the need arise. I used this instrument extensively in various professional settings, and it plays extremely well. It's in very good shape; plating worn in several minor spots. Never a major dent. This was built in 1998, and was #24 according to Walter.

This comes with a sturdy flight case and an excellent gig bag. Instrument recently chem cleaned and serviced. Price is $15,000. For questions or for an appointment to try this instrument, please email Carl@DentonBigBrass.com

I have a positive story to tell later about one of these ("real") Walter Nirschl 6/4 tubas, and it also reflects favorably on Unclebeer.

If that is like the one I played -- wow so easy to play it blew me away. Ya gotta be a bear to hold the thing though.

I never found it uncomfortable. Maybe it sneakily broke me in during the course of 26 years of use. :smilie8:

I think that’s great that you had it for 26 years.
Some old Yorks, Martins, and perhaps a King rotary valved CC
