Had the pleasure to play with Southern California euphonium/tuba player Stephen Klein in my British Brass Band group. He was covering 2nd baritone for an absent member for a concert in 2 weeks. Sight reading and he sounded fantastic. Well, I was excited about the experience..........

Bit of tuba trivia for you. Bruce Broughton’s score to Silverado is a legendary entry into Tommy Johnson’s extensive film score history book. Plenty of exposed soloistic tuba parts, and overall an amazing score.

But Tommy wasn’t the only one playing on those sessions. If you listen carefully, you can hear sections where a second tuba’s in the mix. That part was covered by… the great Steve Klein!
