Greetings,
I found a B&H Eb Tuba that I may be interested but watching the pictures I found something rare. The main tunning slide seems to be chopped. I have seen sometimes that people extend the main tuning slide due to high pitched old instrument, but I donĀ“t remember seeing them to be low pitched and cutted. Any idea?

anecdotal, but I've owned several Boosey/Boosey & Hawkes/Besson 15" bell Ebs and some were definitely flat-natured and could have benefited from a cut. Sometimes this was done on the inner bows (more common w/ 19" bell "Fletcher cut") and I suppose in this case it might've been done on the MTS.
Actually, looking closer at your pic, it does look a bit short in your picture but I'm not entirely sure it was cut. B&H was making high pitch instruments well into the 1960s, I believe. Maybe this was a factory high pitch instrument. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I really like mine, but it could benefit from a cut. Or a Mike Johnson leadpipe.

I do appreciate your responses. Here are some picture I have found from others:
Normal MTS (What makes me feel/Think the one I am interested in is cutted is because I do not see the Reinforcement ring at the MTS receiver (I am not sure if It is well spelled but I hope you can understand me), also It seems to be less space between the MTS receiver and the bridge to the 3rd slide:
Here is another example:
Enlonged MTS:
Thank you all,
