This is a 1950s Reynolds Contempora Eb sousaphone. Three valves, very light and nimble, super fun to play. All slides move, including top-facing 1st valve slide to tune on the fly. Valve plating is 100%. There is significant lacquer wear on the instrument and it looks like it lost a fight with a painted wall corner at one point, but it is in good playing condition. Nice false tones to play low Ab and lower. Includes original neck and one bit.

Asking $300 plus shipping. Email beanhillbrass@gmail.com.

If you do anything trad jazz outdoors...it is worth it to have an Eb sousa. Nothing gets the crowd going like a barking a baseline from a sousa.. a printed bell cover or painting the group name on the bell is the best advertisement.

I actually just loaned this to a local opera company for their production of Barber of Seville, so it will not be available until the end of October.
