Before we know it, the books are going to have some interesting new well-written Christmas carol arrangements in them, and - magically - the shopping malls ( those which aren't already shuttered) will become safe places to park our cars, enter into them, and play music.
... and magically the rednecks in the back - who play their sousaphones way too loud and play the first tuba part or even the first euphonium part - will get lost on the way and won't show up.

Children's steadfast belief in Harvey Claus continues to this day, whereby - magically - he can somehow visit all the locations (for - at least - a few moments) even though several occur at the same time.
As this picture is black-and-white, it's obviously from one of the early 1950's TubaChristmas celebrations.

The Coca-Cola Company invented Tuba Christmas.
It’s all run by a Big Eastern Syndicate you know….

...yeah...In the past I referred to the AFL-CIO (with which our Musicians Union is affiliated) as the Gangsters Union...but the Gangsters left the AFL-CIO (twenty years ago?), so I could no longer correctly refer to it as that.

I am going to be classy this year... and play the GG contrabass bugle instead of the sousaphone. I've been told to just to play a close note for the ones I don't have and to make sure the bell of pointed directly at the conductor and guest musicians in the front row at all times so they can hear me really well. .

In all the different tuba christmas gigs I have attended only one organizer/promoter/conductor was smart enough to ban that bullshirt e.g. no forward-facing marching bugles, marching baritones, etc
ATMO there are just a couple things worse than blatting sousaphone or bugle players thinking its funny...one is joking about doing it on purpose as if it IS funny, and the other is attempting to debate about it

If you like, I'll begin trolling on this topic, and reel in some argumentative posts...(??)

Supposedly they populated the maps with last years events. This years info is still being collected.

Now that...
THAT is funny.
You'd better be careful about being funny. You're going to get called out for trolling, and accused of running off all of the titled people within academia.
Also, we're not supposed to crack jokes about TubaChristmas... it's a very serious and somber time.

Harvey Phillips yelling "pay attention dammit!!" at me .. in a rehearsal of 250+ people... Remains my TubaChristmas memory-to-beat.
Somber AF.
