I have a wonderful silver Reynolds up for sale on Marketplace. It has three valves, good intonation, and was just serviced by Lee Stofer.

Re: ULTIMATE 1960 186 MIRAPHONE PACKAGE $6250
I am lowering the price on this horn. Great player. The BBb crook does not fit at the moment. During the last visit to the shop, we did some resolders on the tuning slide and the crook was not present to refit. The tuning sleeves will need to be resolders and moved slightly to accommodate both ...

Re: Messina Bags
Well, the site says they make each bag to your measurements, and the fit is better than other stock bags on the market. If someone's bag doesn't fit well, was the bag made for that horn with submitted measurements? I'm glad to hear other opinions as if I'm paying for a new bag, I want a slim fit ...

Messina Bags
How much does a Massina bag usually cost? Do you like them? How do they compare to others?
I like that they say it will fit like a glove. I'm looking for tight, light, and handles.
Thanks,
Tim

184 bag
I want to find a bag that fits my 184 well. Something on the lighter side would be perfect. I prefer used bags, but I would consider all.
I would think it is similar in size to a euro rotary F.
bell 14"
Body width 15"
Length 37"
Thanks for any suggestions.

Wessex BBb Helicon
I've been looking for one of these, but maybe with a 3 valve to keep the weight down. A used silver 4-valve BBb came up on eBay during the Thanksgiving holidays, so I grabbed it. Holidays = idle hands, devil's workshop. I've only had 5-10 minutes with it this afternoon, and I like it! It's pretty ...

Terms of Sale
What are the acceptable terms for selling musical instruments regarding shipping and payments? Seems like payment is received before shipping if the parties involved don't know each other. I guess the option of a trial period is left up to the seller. In the event of a return, is a restocking fee ...

Re: Flat Tuba
Sadly, I spent $2500 on a lathe several months ago and been to busy to mess with it. I have lots of mouthpieces that are dying to become sacrificial lambs for this tuba.
Seems like the holidays are always a perfect time to piddle.

Re: Flat Tuba
I will probably let the next owner shorten the tuning slides. I calculated 20 cents is about 1 inch on the tuning slide.
Also, I tried my Bobo solo piece - it did help considerably.

I have a nice Elkhart (Buescher) upright three-valve tuba. I have not done much playing on it but since I'm selling it I gave it a good workout with the tuner this morning. Seems like the horn is about 5 cents low. I had it warmed up nicely but with the tuning slide in it is low. The horn has been ...

186 vs 184 CC
I have really been enjoying my 1960s 186 CC 5U lately. I think a 184 would be a great addition to my stable. (since I'm loving the 186 as a solo horn - maybe I'll like the 184 even better. I am mostly doing solo playing with a pianist friend. My G50 is perfect for this playing and the the 186 as ...
