Re: Willson 3400 RZ-4?

Sadly, it seems like it’s already spoken for—with a long waiting list (I added my name to it, but not expecting it to fall to me).

Willson 3400 RZ-4?

Has anyone ever played this model? Interested in any first-hand experience with it. It seems an interesting choice to make a four valve, rotary Eb.

Re: Meinl Weston 2155 Mouthpiece(s)

I remember liking the Dillon Olka C3L or CB2 (American shank), the Tindall Wick AT3Y, and the Sellmansberger Symphony (American shank). My 2155 had the 45SLP leadpipe, so if yours has the original larger pipe, that could change what you look for in a mouthpiece. Either way, I'd start with these ...

Re: Mouthpiece for Rudy 3/4 CC

The one and the same! From what I know, it was one of the first Rudy 3/4s to come to America and was completely overhauled by Lee Stofer in 2021. I became aware of this tuba about 10 years ago talking to bort2.0 . He spent a summer with this tuba and has waxed poetic about it ever since. I'd always ...

Re: Mouthpiece for Rudy 3/4 CC

Thanks, everyone! Since my current mouthpiece is based on a Helleberg, I'll probably look at adding something Geib-based, to compare.

Mouthpiece for Rudy 3/4 CC

I’ve just acquired a Rudy 3/4 CC. This one dates to the late 1960s and plays magically. The G and C at the top of staff are even right on and the sound/response/evenness are to die for.

The mouthpiece I’m already using seems to be a good fit, but I’m curious what others have tried and liked? I ...
