I had planned on getting you this nice gig suit… perhaps in a 48L?

Y'all are always concerned about how to get your tubas from y'all's cars to inside y'all's venues.
What about this cool contraption for transporting my tornister tuba (which has become my go-to instrument)?

Are you planning on using that thing as a doorstop? If you get the traditional Xmas gift of socks - that thing in an over the calf sock would make a mighty fine head knocker. Or is this a new urban fashion accessory where one wears it around the neck on a gold chain -a la a few years back when they were stealing Mercedes Hood ornaments and wearing them around their necks.

How about in lieu of a gift from the denizens of TubaForum we instead name you the epically prestigious "TubaForum Person of the Year”. :smilie6:

How about a one-year subscription to National Geographic? When I was 7 years old, I was interested in seeing what women look like with no shirts on, but today I'm really concerned about climate change.

How about a collection of those videotapes where that lady does exercises while sitting in a chair?

Which, of course, is the only variety that surpasses pasteurized process Swiss or Gouda food when enjoying a nice box of wine…

A few notes about my gift.

-All the birds will need to be tested for avian flu. I’m told the going rate is $75-95 each.
-I’m pretty sure the gold rings are real. I tested them myself and they all stuck to the magnet.
-You might need to supply cows, stools and buckets to the milk maids.
-The dancing ladies will bring their complete Wu-Tang Clan collection. They hope your Realistic amp is really as loud as you claim.
-The leaping lords all insist on being addressed as, “Your Lordship,” and request that you do not make direct eye contact.
-The pipers arrived at the last minute. They all said that, while they had never played pipes before, they were eager to learn.
-The drummer’s drums all need new heads. Their school system requested a 20% discount since there were more than ten drums. They try to pay all invoices within 730 days.

EDIT: Misread the title of the thread. Still somewhat asleep. :facepalm2:
Whatch'all gettin' me for xmas, this year?
Not sure about you, this is what I am getting me...

After a few years of not playing tuba (something I never thought would happen in my life time) I am getting back into it again. Here are my tuba (and music) related Christmas items.

- Pro Tec PL251 gig bag (for my newly acquired Besson 995)
- Professional servicing of my Besson 995 (cleaning, polishing and some minor dent removal)
- DEG Tuba Rest (my current one is from the late 90s)
- Korg tuner (not a huge fan of Chromatic tuner apps on the phone)
- Sterling by Music Man SB4 Bass (Musician's Friend Stupid Deal of the Day. These are excellent basses)
- Albridge replacement bridge for SB4
- Dunlop strap locks (all my basses get them)
- Ernie Ball strap (wife picked out the design. I will see it at Christmas)
- Funko Pops of various musicians (ie Janis Joplin, Aerosmith, a several others)

Non-Music Related:

- Funko pops (mostly athletes)
- Jeep Wrangler toys (I became a Jeeper x2 in 2023)
- Hooded jacket to replace my old NY Rangers one (wife picked one (or perhaps more) for me)

Birthday wasn't that long ago, and I already got all new underwear. I think Christmas - for me - might be socks.

I didn't sleep well last night and I read the title as more of a "what are y'all getting for Christmas" thread like I've seen in other forums. I had to re-read the title multiple times before I realized it was humorous @bloke-centric thread. Anyway, my Christmas is above.

Perfectly fine. Anything is acceptable here - in any thread - as far as I'm concerned.
I think if I really had my Christmas wish, it would have been to have been born in 1937, but I don't think I can get that.

That is a very specific year. That would have made you almost 88 right now. I feel like there is a story behind this date.

I wouldn't have been likely to have been sent off to any of the D. presidents' wars, and I'd probably be dead by now - rather than living through all this nonsense.

I enjoy todays nonsense.

Especially at about 5pm on Fridays with big glass of booze in my climate controlled home.

@tubatodd If you have not done so already, get some Canadian Brass Christmas gig socks.
