Re: Why should or shouldn’t I renew my ITEA membership?

@russiantuba ...

The Ohio Low Brass Collective (Formerly the NW Ohio Low Brass Collective) is reforming and will be starting rehearsals in Aug. at Buckeye Brass. In past years we hosted a tuba hang at people houses.. we ran out of time to organize one for this year.. but the plan is next year to have one at Buckeye Brass and make it a full day on a Sunday with a guest clinician (Tony Zilincik did one previously and has offered again)... tuba showcase (bring your horn to show off to the group).. and perhaps some small group and solo performances. I've been told Rob Phillips is on board... Perhaps if there would be enough interest from the community it could be expanded to a larger workshop... maybe 2 days (Sunday and Monday).. Something smaller and less work to organize than an Ohio conference.

As amateur as they come...I know just enough to be dangerous.

JC Sherman did one of these for a few years at Cleveland State. Seems like there is definitely interest for a non ITEA conference, and there are already a collection of horns at Buckeye brass

I may have met Mr. Phillips...
I'm sure I've spoken to him on the phone.
based on minimal interaction: a good guy :thumbsup:
