Please, help me to know the most important tuba soloists. Some names that I already know: Roger Bobo, Øystein Baadsvik, Roland Szentpáli, Patrick Sheridan, James Gourlay

Help me to make this list bigger

Most players - with a reasonable amount of experience - can play so low.

Bargeron, almost all of us olds saw him on tv when we were sprouts.

Almost all of us olds had friends who sought us out to tell us about seeing BS&T tuba on tv

if public acclaim is important...in that time, to us, Dave is very important as a tuba soloist. RiP

I recently became aware of Bernd Van Echelpoel. He's the tubist for the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. There's one solo album, titled "Berno", on Spotify. It's worth a listen.

I am a little surprised no one has mentioned Eduardo Nogueroles... I really like his playing

Thank you for starting this thread!

It feels like i have heard of less
than half the names here, and the youtube posts of playing probably i will appreciate more than the names when i find the time. But yeah, i am relatively ignorant too, so keep 'em coming and maybe i'll be less ignorant eventually.
