New man in the Portland OR area.

Post by Charlie C Chowder »

As posted before Rosecity Music is now open. Andy is still in his house. Lots of new tech toys in the garage, lots of playing toys in his front room. His wife has got to be a gem. I took my Marzan BBb slant rotor to him for some beautification as it had a lot of ugly green grime on the bell rim and the chrome valve branches. The springs were to tight as well. I got it back last night and spent 1.5 hours playing before going to bed. I did not want to put it down. He found several little problem that I was not aware of and fixed them. One being a leak. I am very happy with the work he did. Tuba looks and plays a whole lot better.
We have a great brasstech in the area, who's has a very long line waiting for him. I use him alot. But it is nice to have another tech to turn to. I have lost several techs that I trusted who have left the area. To now have two is reassuring.

That is great news. I’m glad your Marzan has been improved.

Just to be picky. The “chrome valve branches” are nickel silver, rather than chrome plated, unless something very strange has happened since the tuba was built. :-)
Some old Yorks, Martins, and perhaps a King rotary valved CC
