This tuba actually looks to be in very good condition. Just some lacquer wear and a few small pings; no major dents. The real test is playing it and making sure the slides and valves all move well. Otherwise, this tuba could be a great deal for someone wanting a decent 4/4, 4-valve BBb tuba for cheap❕️

whats going on with that ferrule alignment between the two large bows? How did that happen?

My theory. The ferrule is in the right place, but at some point the bow was removed and what you are seeing is what's left of burner and or missing lacquer

The 691 I tried 1 days ago had the exact same lacquer loss, but on the 2 sides.
It might be a lacquer weakness on these tubas.

the ferrules for the bottom bow would be offset ? Not in line with each other ?

@dp I think they’ve always been offset. Here’s an old Walter Sear Cerveny I sold a few years ago:
