I am selling a couple of BBb tubas. This is the first--an approximately 16 month old Eastman 5V 825VG (the letters signifying a gold brass bell, and 5 valves). I was on a BBb quest last year and settled on this one. The horn is in excellent condition. There are some small scratches on the bell rim that don't photograph particularly well; and some on the bottom of the keel. There is one shallow dent, viewable on the inside of the bell (see blurry photo), where it appears that the receiver brace was bumped inward slightly. I don't know of that happening during my ownership, so it was likely there before I bought it, as it had at least some little bit as a demo.
These horns have excellent response and intonation, with a big sound. Why am I selling such a good tuba? Only because i ran across an all gold brass 825 that I like even more.
Priced at $6,800 with the Eastman hard case, but no bag (compare to 9,500 to 10,000 on Dillon's website). The tuba is in Columbus OH, and I am not willing to ship.
