It looks like the baby to my 186CC. Kinda cute IMO.

Bell looks so tiny, what is that 13-14 inches? If I was an Eb kinda guy id probably buy it.

I think these had a 15” bell. Pic kinda skews it making it look smaller.

The one I have is less stuffy than my 283, but it has been modified with a standard-sized receiver. It is also full of dents that do not appear to have any negative effect. Mine anyway is not even in the same ballpark of stuffiness as a typical rotary F, which I still cannot play.

As an F tuba player ...we have a low register?

Mine is the 186CC Sitting next to me in range while playing an F tuba. :smilie8:

Tuesday in the trio rehearsal that used to be all double reeds but is now oboe, clarinet, and cellassoon, for the last low Bb in a piece, I stopped and turned the C string peg down to Bb before I belatedly played the last note. The clarinet thought it was hilarious, and the oboe was a bit confused. (I have Wittners, not difficult to do that, but a 4/4 string on a 7/8 cello gets a bit floppy as low as Bb.)
