Marching strap for Lidl 684

Post by claf »

When I ordered by Lidl 684, I took the Neotech tuba harness (regular size) with it.
However, the bottom bow of the tuba is too big for the harness straps

What are my options there?
Anyone tried the Rudolf Schwarz Tuba X-Strap or the Air Cell Tuba Strap ?

I use the neotech holster harness with the Conn 20J and it works just fine. I never tried the normal harness with straps because I would afraid of the same problem.
As amateur as they come...I know just enough to be dangerous.

Was thinking about it as well.
It's not strapped to the horn, right ?
Just slide into it?

Yup it just slips in. There is a click in strap that connects the upper bow area to the shoulder to keep the whole thing from tumbling out. It is pretty secure for what it is.

I've got one that works okay with Kings and Mirafones, let me dig it out of the 186's trunk tomorrow and get back to you.

Mine is the Rudolf Schwartz. I got it with my 1998 186CC, but used it in college marching band with a King recording bell tuba to good effect. It load the weight above my belly, so it doesn't restrict breathing much at all.

The metal hook at the bottom is coated and will wear off, I need to put new heat shrink tubing on mine.

I might try mocking it up on my Cerveny 653, it's the only one I currently have that has loops for a strap.
