I resolve to practice my slow legato playing. What's yours?

I’m going to have a lesson, first time in a long time, so hopefully the teacher picks up a few things for me to work on.
I have resolved to get my kids to learn a brass instrument, they have another 4 weeks of school holidays, so may as well learn something during that time. Had 1 lesson already (with someone far more charismatic than me) and they enjoyed it, much to their surprise

Re: 2021 Musical New Year's Resolutions...
To play my King Recording Bell and my Holton tubas whether I know I'll be playing in a band in 2021. After having them cleaned and checked, I put them away. Now I think "what for?" as it really is a waste to have them just sit there. It is not like I am going to outlive them! Start this weekend and keep plugging away on both.

"I will never listen to anything the government tells me", sorry George Carlin reference.
"I will never listen to anything a tuba teacher tells me",
I never did anyway, except for a couple. If I could do it over again I would just listen about that much.
Output beats input every time if its good.

To find a group to play in. It was tough around here even before the dreaded 'C-19' but now it's damn near impossible. Both local groups (band and orchestra) rehearse AND perform at the high school. Of course, because of the dreaded 'C-19,' the school district won't let us near the band room or auditorium. Add to that the fact that almost all members of these groups are seniors and are petrified of the dreaded 'C-19' and wouldn't come to rehearsals even if the school would allow it. Oh well, maybe I can get a quintet together and rehearse in my garage or somewhere like that.

To pull out the Arban's, the Terrell, etc - heck, even the Rubank - at least once a week, and actually work on technical things, rather than just playing fun and lyrical things.

Re: 2021 Musical New Year's Resolutions...
I feel indecisive and dumb, but going back to tuba. I played euph this last year, and I miss tuba much more than I expected to. So hopefully once my current euph gets sold, I can pick up a tuba (again)
This is probably the third time I’ve felt this urge in 6 or so years. I really should just learn to stick with the tuba

Work up the Allemande from the Bach Violin Partita in D minor
Also....more consistent intonation.
Also really lock in the low E on my CC horn.
Also breathe more efficiently.
Also develop a consistently useful Bb above middle C.

A Buescher Eb tuba with a Conn 12j sized valveset. Hopefully very similar to your tuba!
