Whoever buys it...
(If located within a day trip from me), consider contracting me to take care of bottom bow dent removal. (I'd love to play it, for a few minutes.)
My friend Jose is selling his beautiful Kaiser tuba -- rare anywhere, but almost certainly unique in the USA. If you like the BBb Kaiser tuba sound, these sound like .
I'm really sorry to know that Jose is selling the tuba! And frankly, I tried very hard to find a way to buy it myself and get it to Minnesota, but faced a number of financial and logistical obstacles there... major bummer! I would LOVE to get my hands on this! I hope this can go to a great new home for someone here!
I've known Jose for about 10 years, and he's a kind, honest, and trustworthy brother tuba player. Good luck with the sale!

Thank you for your kind words always, Brett!
Thats a production line 197.... Not a 197/2. just to notice that there a big differences
Yes, There are differences. I have talked with a well known pro-tubist from one of the bests orchestras in Germany and he tolds me that he owns 2 197. The older model (like the one I have for sale) wich have a bigger bell,3rd tuning slide front that stays at his home for his personal practice and the newer model 197/2 smaller bell, 3rd slide backside, wich stays at the orchestra. He said the 197/2 has a better intonation and is little easier to handle whereas he someties thinks that the 197 has a better sound. He also went to the Melton factory last year and made me the favor to ask for my 197 and the Melton guys said It was sold in 1993 to a retailer in Chicago.
Maybe not same as the 197/2 but I am sure It still is a great tuba and extremely rare in America in general.
I didn't say it is a bad Instrument...... I just mentioned that there are big, really big differences between these models.
I believe there are very fine (soundwise) production line 197 but there are some reasons meinl weston doesn't produce this line anymore too
Good luck for selling this
This is the last "price drop" bump. I will not bother you with any bumps for this post. I am sorry If I have been anyoing. But due my current situation and the one of my country, I am in the need to sell this tuba, but cannot go any lower.
