Albuquerque CL: Older 2341
Re: Albuquerque CL: Older 2341
I've been surfing CL and eB for years (pre-Internet it was thrift stores and garage sales). I enjoy sharing what I find. Besides, my wife has no affinity for conversations that start, "Hey, you won't believe the sousaphone I saw on the Topeka craigslist today."

Re: Albuquerque CL: Older 2341
I must have missed that someone not interested in buying the horn called the guy. Yeah, I would not tip someone off to that, either. I was just hoping someone here who was local to him (or had a local friend) would snap it up and get a great deal. Did someone actually call him and tell him the horn is worth much more? I did not read that anywhere, but then I have not read this whole thread. I only commented about the value versus the price.

Re: Albuquerque CL: Older 2341
Well then, that went a little nuts! I thought that I was just going to say thanks to @hrender for posting all these offsite listings.
I think that I helped create this mess because I sent my cousin this and asked him to buy it. My instructions were that if they were nice people, and the tuba seemed as nice as the photos made it out, throw them a little extra cash to make it a fair deal. My cousin is a violin/viola player in the area and apparently did just that..... I had no idea that they had communicated to anyone else about buying it until I logged in here and saw this!
I think that everyone here is usually so respectful to each other when we sell things. That is certainly not the case with everyone. @tubadude drop me PM if you want to chat about the tuba, I'd try and make it right with you.

Wow, this got really weird. I hope everyone involved ends up happy. Regardless, unless the valves are complete junk, this horn was a screaming deal.
