Happy Tuba Tuesday. Today the Museum features a Cerveny, EE flat tuba, 4 rotary, ca.1900.

Bell Diameter is 18 1/4” with bores of .820/.850/stuck/.855″ and a height of 38 1/2″.

There is a large brass seal on the bell with two engraved pictures in it. “SOLE AGENT FOR U.S. AND CANADA / GEORGI B. VITAK, CHICAGO Ill. 4663 GROASS AVE. KONNIGRATZ” on outer seal. “PRIMIERES RECOMPENSES, V.F. CERVENY & FILS / PARIS 1889 CHICAGO 1893” on inner seal. “EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE 1889 / HRISTOPHER COLVMBVS OCTXII [illegible]” on center seal.

I also really like how these Cerveny sound.

Though i was not tuba player enough to manage intonation issues when i first had a chance to try something similar, nor did i have any competence on Ebs...
