Re: Dillon: old Mirafone 185 BBb $3,195
I picked up one of those several years ago...
It was in nearly perfect original condition, other than the old-old nitrocellulose lacquer, which was toast (but no refinishing, and it's ancient o.e.m early 1960's case).
Tuning characteristics were curious (but weren't/aren't they usually with old 184 and 185 instruments?), and - per typical of old Miraphone tubas - the #4 circuit really wasn't long enough to suit (at least) me.
I found someone who was looking for something a bit smaller, and who really appreciated not-re-lacquered/not-distressed vintage Miraphone tubas.
