I have never been to that and should go. I have a friend who would like to go so maybe we can put that together soon. It can be done in a day from here, although it is a pretty long day. It has a reputation of being very much worth the trip.

My wife got me tickets to it years ago. I went once. It has lots of instruments. But it did not have any context or evolution of the instruments. They were all based by geography.

I guess I expected more of the history of music than just lots of instruments.

Looking at the website - some things have been added since that may add what I missed.

This is just my experience. I was in a community band with a volunteer who helped there and he loved it.
