And @bloke - that's one of the new Blokebergs in the Alex. First concert I've played with a Blokeberg. I really like these mouthpieces.

Two groups I have done a lot of playing with as of late as a substitute

1. Lima Symphony Orchestra. Filled in last season as a sabbatical replacement and covered a concert this past weekend. Great gentlemen and musicians to continue to learn how to do orchestral playing.

Image

2. I’ve been doing several gigs with the Bass-ic Instinct Tuba Quartet based out of Cincinnati. This was a picture from an August gig, and the members rotate. Founded by Tim Olt (not pictured), has other notable performers such as Norlan Bewley and Mark Simmons. Pictures left to right on this gig: Josh Omaits on a Schlub Brassworks Euphonium, Mark Hensler on a Besson Prestige, myself on a Gronitz PF 125, and John Miller on an Eastman 836CC

The stand is a vintage K&M bassoon/bass clarinet stand (no alterations).
Check out Dr. Bruce Faske subbing in the principal trombone chair for that concert.

It was this concert. Bruce offered forth some fabulous playing:

Round Top Brass Band. My section mate was out of state, and the ORIGINAL tuba player from when the band started up in 1971 came from Colorado to fill in (and visit some family).

Here is our Lincoln Civic Orchestra (community orchestra that's been around for about 45 years, I believe) low brass section. I played with the group for several seasons about 10 years ago, had to leave for scheduling reasons, then started back again last season. It's grown to about 90 people.
