Happy Tuba Tuesday. The Museum today features a King, Giant 1270 model, BB flat sousaphone, 3 piston, c.1928.

Serial #: 114791

Bell Diameter 28”, Bore Size .750.

Comments:

“KING / MADE BY / THE H.N. WHITE / CO. / CLEVELAND / OHIO” on bell. “MADE BY / H.N. WHITE CO. / CLEVELAND, O.” on 1st valve. Ornate floral design engraved around identification marks.

I approve of the ornateness of the floral design since, if they were functional, they migh attract insects. Or humming birds, apparently.

And sorry to harp on a description. Pretty sure there is no good way for mere smear words to do it justice. And one can probably tell i came straight here from a particular thread about bad ideas...
