Sounds like a losing hand in poker.

I'd agree to it, as long as I'm allowed to define "Texas Flush".

...In the past, I've agreed to repair any instrument for only $100...to my satisfaction.

I like it when I see (on another business' quote or old invoice) "check instrument".

Man-oh-man...
I can "check" 4500 - or even more - instruments in about two seconds !!! :smilie8:

This is a new term to me. Is there a definition or do I have to be from Texas to understand?

To me a Texas flush happens around 24 hours after eating brisket off an offset smoker.

When I see dubious things done to others' stuff, my pat comment is " ' ain't mine".

Just for the record, I don't do stupid stuff to valves and slides, and I try to talk people out of doing stupid stuff to other parts of their instruments that either will probably be detrimental or have no effect. As far as the "ain't mine" is concerned, I was speaking to stuff done to instruments in other parts of the country or by other shops. I don't have any control over that crap.
Speaking in way more general terms, a whole bunch of stupid stuff is done every day in this world. I can't control any of that either, and only try to not do too much of it myself.
I have acid cleaned a whole bunch of instruments in my day, because there was no way around it, but - thinking back over the decades- I just don't think I've ever done it once to any of my own instruments. It's pretty easy to avoid needing to do that. :eyes:
