Post by humBell »

Er... Meet Mister Eb tuba:

Any guesses?

Mine would be Martin based on ferrules and and such, but i am having a hard time finding any pics of a Martin with a pigtail (mts on leadpipe)

My guess is that's a Conn. The tuba in the picture is not a large one.

I have seen a couple "monster" (or maybe "giant"?) Conn Eb tubas with the valves at the same odd angles and the slides and loop in the leadpipe oriented the same way. Granted, the ebay tuba is smaller, but the valve section screams Conn to me.

Ya mean ifi had just guessed the most common tuba in the US, i woulda probably been right?

If a mystery ended that way, it'd be a let down...

(And yeah, i was pretty sure i was wrong.)

Conn, no bout adoubt it. Braces, ferrules, etc. all tell the tale.

I could see that as an interesting F tuba project... :smilie7:

Oh, haha! I don't usually check the date on posts. That'll teach me!

Somehow it feels like a good way of celebrating a 4 year old forum...
