TUBBY THE TUBA

Post by Stryk »

I have the band arrangement of Tubby that I want to give our community band, but there is no solo part. Does anyone have a copy that I can buy? This is the George Roach arrangement....

You could pitch it as an avant-garde piece:

Just play some bebop licks when the conductor points to you.

They should fit a lot of the time - because Tubby gets shouted down, and - if you play really good ones towards the end - they might even fit as well.

Is the tuba part included in the score? Should be pretty easy to write out.

I do not own it. However, I do know two organizations in my area (one college music program and one community band) who own it and I could point you in the direction of. Note: I do not have any authority to loan anything out, I would merely be "making the introduction." Let me know if you don't have any luck here.

Thanks, Mark - someone sent me the original. I appreciate your offer, though!
