I am both done with, and never started, the virtual crap.

I got an email today about a virtual tuba Christmas I think for Washington dc, but yeah you know where I stand with that now. :)

@MN_TimTuba, are you still interested in trying to do some sort of small Christmas tuba group?

Strangely it says NO registration or rehearsal. Maybe that will update later. Participation fee is still $10.00. The last two I played at this location, participation was under 40 horns.
I was in contact with the coordinator, it is his own group of friends and no outsiders or school people allowed this year. Don't waste your time showing up. :eyes:
Is that allowed, for a official sanctioned TubaChristmas event? Having it be private seems to be the exact opposite of the intent of the event ...?

blokeplace should have a "blokeplace 2020 Xmas Tubas" ZOOM event, and charge $25 (which will go towards blokovid relief).

Well that's what I thought too, but his e-mail back to me read "For a close knit circle of people I know already" basically and no school aged kids or students to limit the exposure to the virus. He should just say it's CANCELLED on the website flat out instead of having to answer all the e-mails.

Too bad. The grandkids were looking forward to it.

The one in Omaha is still "on." I contacted the director of the event and he said he's still trying to figure out how things will work.

I'm putting together a tuba/euph quartet and will plan on doing some informal playing around town, perhaps at the Salvation Army kettles after Thanksgiving.

Brett,
Looks like just the TC in Brainerd. I'll send you details if you want to join in! The 2 euphonium players in contacted in the Twin Cities declined due to covid concerns.
