For Sale VMI 3301 BBb (On Hold)

Post by Mikelynch »

Here is the second BBb for sale. This, again is an excellent instrument in excellent condition. The only cosmetic flaws I see are a couple of minor scratches on the inside of the bell, and wear of lacquer right around the bell rim.

Response and intonation are both very good. The response is helped by the inclusion of Martin Wilk's intermediate valves--not as open as the better known MAW valves, and avoiding negatives some find with those valves. I have used this type of valve on 3 B&S tubas since learning of them several years ago. They offer the additional advantage of being faster than the stock valves due to a more slippery surface than the stock B&S valves. The stock valves will be included.

Priced at 4,700, including a Miraphone bag that fits well, and both sets of valves. Again the tuba is in Columbus OH, and I do not want to ship the tuba.
