Need to buy a tuba mute

Post by cthuba »

Hey All!

I have a Bruckner 291 and need a mute that fits it for a gig.

Budget is 2-300 dollars.

Any of you know what fits this tuba? The internet searches haven’t been very helpful

I have a couple of Denis Wick mutes that are good; but if I were buying a mute today, I would get a Schlipf (https://www.tuba-mute.com/). Neither the Wick or the Schlipf will be in your budget new.

The large Humes and berg aluminum mute is a great match for that horn
