This is great news! I am definitely a fan of “soup can” style mouthpieces. I have owned just about all the Monette models and also have the R&S Helleberg. With my regular MPs, you put one in, and… hmmm, I think it’s a little more this or that. When you put a soup can on a horn things happen – in a big way! I love the R&S on my small Yamaha F – makes the horn feel so solid and stable and BIG! At the moment, my Monette 98 & 99 are my favorites on my G-50 CCs.
Unlike the previous post, I think the description offers plenty of useful information. Seeing how Tony uses the different models really tells me more of what I want to know than a bunch of graphs and measurements. When I’m ready to buy, I’ll just tell Tony what I am looking to accomplish and what I’m using at the moment. I’m sure he’ll put me on target.
When I bought my first “Bloke Piece” I just told Joe what I wanted the mouthpiece to do, what music I was playing, and what horn & mouthpiece I am currently using to accomplish my goals. He said: try this one – you will be happy. Yep – now my favorite solo MP.
I like buying goods and services from a tuba player. They understand what I’m asking for, and I understand their recommendations and reasoning.
I did not write this post as an advertisement. Just call me a sucker for exceptional tubas and great mouthpieces. I think Tony’s mp line is an excellent addition to the marketplace, and I like doing business with “players.”
I will follow up when I get mine.

Not sure. ISTR the R&S heavies were made by a local machine shop. With CNC that should be fairly easy to do. @bloke , you went through this with your blokebergs, right?

I multi-head machine isn't necessarily outfitted with the particular set of heads which would be ready to go - as far as (simply) punching in numbers and ending up with mouthpieces shooting out the other end.

I am happy to discuss these mouthpieces at any time. Send me a PM with your phone number, and I'll call you, and I'll tell you EXACTLY the designs I have used. I don't have any measurements, per sé, but I can tell you what I used a models for the cups. Since I am really small time (I only order these 12 at a time), I simply cannot afford to send them around for trial purposes. With what they cost me, versus the price for which I sell them, (after R&D) I'd have to sell about 400 before I start making any money at this. These days, there are SO many great mouthpiece makers, that I am just one of a multitude. I can only say that I sell something different, and that these work for me. Let's talk!!!
