Up for sale is a ZO Thunderbird 6/4 CC tuba located in Los Angeles area. This horn is a hand made York style tuba that produces large dark sound, while being very responsive and free-blowing. From personal experience, this is the most in-tune horn that I’ve played, I only needed a couple of minor slide adjustments in the low and pedal registers.

Features:
Key: CC
Size: 6/4
Bell: 20"
Height: 39’’
Valves: 4 pistons + 1 rotary (valves come with Yamaha springs)
Finish: Silver
This instrument was purchased brand new in 2019 by the previous owner, whom I got it from in the summer of 2022. The horn has two 1/4 of an inch in diameter cosmetic dents: one on the bell (picture 2) and the other one on the bottom bow(picture 7). Besides these two dents, the instrument is in excellent condition. The horn comes with an original hard case and was most recently serviced by Paul Klintworth in June 2023.
I’m selling this horn because I want to go to a smaller 5/4 instrument. This would be a better fit for what I’m trying to do in my career right now.

Thank you,
Hope to talk to you soon,

Gallup, NM is roughly a halfway point, and is a large enough town to have a good hotel/motel selection.
If you have a reliable car, why not take four or five days, and drive there and back?
You could actually PLAY it before buying it, and (avoiding shipping gorillas) you could get it home in the same condition it was in when purchased.
yeah...That's a bunch of driving, but - at least, to me - this seems like a pretty important purchasing decision.
